Synapsis is a collective of people dedicated to experimental art and performance. It is a human laboratory where people conduct movement research and investigate different forms of performance and time-based arts. Synapsis welcomes investigation and critical discourse and we invite new participants to join in an ongoing dialogue. CURRENT PROJECTSContact ImprovisationContact Improvisation is an open ended exploration of the kinesthetic possibilites of bodies moving through contact. Sometimes wild and athletic, sometimes quiet and meditative, it is a form open to all bodies, changing from moment to moment and dance to dance to flow with the physicalities of those meeting. Contact Improvisation classes are held at Synapsis Warehouse Wednesdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Open jam follows. Suggested Donation $5-$10 for class and jam. All levels welcome. The Synapsis Aerial Collective is dedicated to the aerial arts. Our areas of specialty include the static trapeze (single and doubles) and the tissu (aerial silk/fabric). We regularly offer classes and workshops in beginning and intermediate aerial skills. Beginning aerial (tissue and static trapeze) and conditioning is currently being taught Sundays 4:30pm-6:00pm and 7:00pm-8:30pm. If interested, please contact Leslie Castellano at 707-616-3104. The Dream ProjectThe Dream Project is a collaboration between members of Synapsis and The artists at The Studio. During the spring of 2008, these artists are working together to create a performance based on the investigation of dreams.
