What moves do you expect your team to make after the post season?

Make it realistic. Don’t say "we will sign CC, Sheets, Peavey, Teixiera, and K-Rod." No one will get all of those players. Make your expectations/predictions realistic.

I expect my team to trade street, resign Ellis, and maybe make a couple of minor moves.

The Marlins will have to cut payroll but bringing more defense and speed to this team is a help, keep a few starting pitchers and cut the home run-strikeout players. Believe me, cutting payroll is needed to actually make the Marlins better.

Is learning Tabs the quickest way to learn to play guitar?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under learn | 1 Comment »

I have always wanted to learn to play but having no one to help me and the books and video sounds greak to me is tabs a good option? Also what would be a good starter guitar?

No more than learning the abacus is the quickest way to learn computer science. Tablature is the forerunner of the modern notation system. It is a graphical representation of the six guitar strings, and it shows you which finger to put down on any given string, but not when to put it there, how long to leave it there, or what to do with it once it’s down there. It also cripples you when you want to discuss that piece of music with anyone who doesn’t play guitar. I am not saying that tab is useless. It is extremely valuable for differently abled musicians who need that graphical cue to help them with the notation. For that reason programs like Tabledit, Powertab Editor and Guitar Pro 4 – 6 offer both. Even high end programs like Sibelius and Finale give guitarists (and even Mandolin and Violin players) the option of seeing both styles of notation on the same page.

leaning both systems can be beneficial, but make sue you spend some time with standard notation. You are going to want to play with other people eventually and even Paul McCartney (who is severely Dyslexic) learned that it pays to be able to show music to your mates, even if it doesn’t make much sense to you.

Yamaha makes a good starter acoustic guitar, as does Washburn, Fender, Takamine and in the higher end models, Alverez. Yamaha makes a nice strat copy electric guitar as well, as do the other companies I mentioned. Epiphone’s quality and reliability have gone way up since they were purchased by Gibson as well.

How do I make pirate costumes at home?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under costumes | 2 Comments »

This year I wanna have me and my boyfriend dress up as pirates and hand candy out to kids. I’m thinking about just making the costumes at home with the clothes we have. We have the bandanas and boots. We’ll probably get eye patches. But what else could I use from home to make costumes?

you can take jeans and roll them up a little up to the boots or tuck it in wear a vest and a white dress shirt or a plain colored bath robe instead of a vest. You could wear big loopy earrings and rolled up jeans or a long skirt

I am entering a competion at work to win a night in a posh hotel for 2! What we have to do is think of a catchy name for a conference/awards ceremony coming up in May. The conference is all about change and transformation. I work for the NHS in a Primary Care Trust. Any ideas appreciated. Cheers

Try…. "Change… It’s about Time"…

Best I can think of right now.

How do I get a street plate for my dirt bike in Massachusetts?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under street | 3 Comments »

Looking to see if any riders out there know any tricks to get your dirt bike street legal for enduros and turkey runs. I have a Honda CRF 250X and my father has an XR 400 and we haven’t been able to do many club events because our bikes aren’t street registered. At the events, mostly all the riders don’t have mirrors, blinkers, horn, etc., but were still able to obtain a street plate. One of the club members told me that Vermont is fairly lenient in giving out street plates.

Contact your DMV. and motorcycle clubs .You need dual bike with street legal things that you will be fine. not just off road bike .

What’s the difference between men and women’s tennis shoes?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under shoes | 1 Comment »

I always have trouble with my feet being wide and fitting into shoes, and tennis shoes are no exception. Almost all of the women’s shoes I try feel too tight to the point my feet feel numb. So I’m wondering, would Men’s shoes work better for my wide feet? Are men’s shoes essentially like women’s shoes, except bigger and wider? And if I wear size 9 shoes, what would that translate into men’s sizes?

Should be the same other than the sizing. Women 9 is about a Men 7-1/2 to 8-1/2

How do you learn music theory?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under music | 4 Comments »

What I am looking for is a textbook to learn music theory but doesn’t assume you don’t know how to read music. I can read music but just want more information about chord structures and more advanced items than learning how to read music. Any ideas of a good textbook?

Well it’s hard to say where you’re at from what you describe. You say you can read, but not how well. Therefore, let me suggest Practical Beginning Theory, by Bruce Benward. I use it to teach students myself. In fact, I’m so darn nice that I’m going to include the link to the book on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0697106357/ref=olp_tab_used/102-7434167-3360950?ie=UTF8&condition=used
The second one down is a very good copy ;)
