How to create costumes for Wesley and Buttercup?

I want the costumes recognisable, but not expensive. I think Wesley wore black pants, gloves, a shirt and a demi-mask at some point with a sword, and Buttercup a fancy dress with a tiara, correct? What else did they wear that would be recognisable?

you got westley pretty much right (black pants, black pirate-y shirt, boots, & the little bandit mask for a bit). for most of the movie, buttercup wears a flowy orange-colored dress; at the end, she wears a fancy white & light blue dress for the wedding. great costume idea, that’s one of my all-time favorite movies!!
