How do you learn to dance without paying for lessons?
I want to learn hip hop, but I don’t want to go to lessons yet. I have no experience, but I’ve wanted to learn for a while. Any tips?
i am a ballet dancer who started when i was 10. i had no experience, but i wanted to learn, so i talked to the madamoiselle & we came up with an agreement that i would help her with a preschool class for 2 hrs a week, and my lessons would be free. so after a few weeks of my own lessons, i helped with the 3&4 year olds. at first my duties were limited to bathroom and drink breaks with the kids while she continued to teach, setting up, putting mats & shoes away, and helping them get ready for thier parents to pick them up. later, i began to fill in for her while she spoke with parents, and helping to demonstrate & correct thier posture, footings, etc. now i am able to run the classes for her if i need to, up to the age 12 group. i am being payed 50$for helping out 6 hrs a week, and my lessons are still free. so i reccomend talking to the dance teacher & asking her if you can work things out. if not, try going to a smaller dance school, where they will be more willing to work out problems with thier potential customers. good luck!
Well, free lessons are hard to come across, but there is a channel on youtube called "Expert Village" who give video instructions and tutorials for anything you can think of (dance, magic tricks, music, ANYTHING), and they have some good, basic, yet professional for beginner hip hop. Just go to youtube, search "Hip hop tutorial," and you will find SOMETHING.

The best way to learn without lessons is to just watch videos and try to lean the moves and create your own. But really taking lessons would be the best way plus it would be much more fun and inspiring to learn with other dancers. If money is an issue there are quite a few dance studios that will let you pay for each lesson individually rather than monthly.
