Synapsis is a performance space, gallery, and human laboratory.

Our mission:
* to invite freedom and experimentation in expression
* to refine and develop performance skills
* to research the possibilities in movement and dance
* to challenge performer and audience
* to curate unusual live experiences
* to support the development of strong new voices in the time-based and traditional arts

We support artists’ risk-taking and offer the opportunity for people to develop work on their own terms. We also support collaboration and human expression in all its mongrel forms. We understand that we live in a physical world and that place and community are our ground for being here. We actively engage with our local community and with a broader community of artists creating emergent and experimental forms.

Synapsis welcomes investigation and critical discourse and we invite new participants to join in an ongoing dialogue. Please contact us if you would like to be more involved in shaping what takes place under the name Synapsis.
