I need a 1940’s to 1960’s song like a Waltz for my 15th birthday party?
Ok well i am having a quinceanera in January and i need a nice cute waltz song. My theme is old fashioned Hollywood! I want it to be a real easy song to dance to because i need to choreograph it soon and show it to my court of honor so any suggestions please!
My personal favorites are done by Enya, Cake, Blackmores Night, Weird Al, and the Asylum Street Spankers. Altho Brad Paisley, the Beatles, Blondie, Grateful Dead, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, and Charlie Daniels band had some nice ones also.
But 40’s to 60’s? Thats rough. I dont tend to think of them that way.
Old Hollywood theme? Hmmm….
There actually is a song named "the Hollywood Waltz" by the Eagles
but Im not real impressed by it for a quinceanera
How about "Rich Fantasy Lives" by Tom Smith

That would match the theme and no one would recognize it.
or maybe some everyone would recognize from Disney?
"Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty (also can be found as the Sleeping Beauty Waltz)
"A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes"
"the Princess Diaries Waltz"
Or "Nevlille’s Waltz" from the Harry Potter movie?
Or "Potter Waltz" from Harry Potter
Probably one of the most recognized tv-and-movie waltz’s would be
"Somewhere My Love" (also known as Lara’s Theme)
or "Waltz of the Flowers" (also known as Fantasia)
also the song "the Godfather" from those movies but I wouldnt recommend it
Baby’s in Black by The Beatles, altho it is a rock song, it has the time(beat) of a waltz even john lennon says its a waltz in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVufo5dYn50 (this is the live version)
Studio version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SizmZmDYSfA
